Paul Werner

Paul
has taught theatre and television production for 28 years in New
Orleans at Mt. Carmel Academy and at Benjamin Franklin, where he was
Teacher of the Year in 1999. He is a former board member of the New
Orleans Video Access Center and is currently coordinator of the
Contemporary Arts Center’s Playwrights’ Unit. He was featured in the
WYES-TV documentary, Teaching That Works II. He has also taught web
design at the Greater New Orleans Free-Net. In the summer of 2000 he
led a team of students who created a website, sigKIDS, which showcased
digital art from young artists around the world and gave a “teen view”
of the international computer graphics convention, SIGGRAPH.
Paul's
television credits include his stint as a staff writer for 52 episodes
of MORGUS PRESENTS, a local sitcom. He is currently head of the Media
Arts department of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts|Riverfront,
the arts high school that produced Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick.
