Mike is a man with a self-effacing sense of humor, who says of himself: "At
age 53, after the requisite 2.1 marriages, 2.1 children, 2.1 metric
tons of pet feces and 30 years of listening to customers complain about
their cars, I decided it was time to try another tack. I started by
learning about and building PCs. But a PC is just a tool and without a
job for it to do, it is also an expensive and pretty much useless tool.
Enter video. I borrowed a friend’s 8mm camcorder and with an ATI
All-In-Wonder video card, I captured video -- or possibly it captured
me. Yeah, it captured me..."
"After
a year of struggling with this obsession -- and probably male
menopause, as well -- I quit my 'day job' for a dream (the dream of
never needing to go back to it!). That was about three years and
another life ago. I have managed to live my dream of not working at a
grind. Success with video comes for me in very small but positive
steps."
Mike also teaches various video and other software tools for local trade and other schools in the Oklahoma City area.
