Walter
Soyka had no idea the live events industry even existed until he found himself
working in it.
Walter
began his career as an in-house video editor and production jack-of-all-trades
for Westchester County's multimedia department. He went freelance in 2002,
initially focusing on video production. After working on a video-heavy
corporate presentation, he switched gears, focusing on graphics and animation
for live corporate events. Walter quickly adapted his skill set to his new
niche, and adopted new presentation tools like Dataton Watchout and Apple
Keynote as they were released.
Today,
Walter's company, Keen Live (http://www.keenlive.com), specializes in motion graphics, widescreen/multi-screen display, and
presentation design. Walter's interdisciplinary approach—blending design and
engineering—has proven invaluable in his live events work, where each project
brings new creative and technical challenges.
Although
he travels extensively for work and many of his Creative COW posts come from
parts unknown, Walter lives in his original hometown. He's proud to have
married his high school sweetheart, and together they are raising a family.
You can find Walter Soyka hosting in Creative COW's and Live & Stage Events Forum.

Larger Than 4K: Larger Than Life!
Keen Live's Walter Soyka regularly works with files twice the size of EPIC's 4.5K - and how about a 120-foot video wall at 14,700 x 1200 - that's why he needs all the power he can get from his workstation.
