I've been an editor since 1979. I came up as a video editor in Miami, no film background or experience (big mistake). I have a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Central Florida. I was a staff editor in Miami until 1989 then moved to L.A. where I became a freelance off-line editor.

In December 2004 I moved to the NYC area and have continued as a freelance off-line editor. I do mostly cable reality programs, but have done some for network and some movie trailers as well. I am currently cutting my first feature narrative on my home Avid Xpress Pro and am learning FCP.

I am also close to wrapping on a book I've written about editing reality/documentary programs. It's all about aesthetics and some organizational tips, nothing technical as in how to operate the equipment. It's meant to serve as a surrogate mentor to new editors, assistant editors and editing students. I have also gathered input from other editors to include so that it's not just my opinions. I have a 10 question survey that I give to editors or producers that would like to contribute input for the book. I'm still open to more input if you would like to contribute in that way.

In addition to being an editor, over the years I have been a rock drummer, a mobile DJ, a videographer, and a SAG commercial actor. I like ping-pong, volleyball and kayaking. Years ago I used to be known as The Editing Dog or T.E.D.
