My
name is Greg Serafin and I am currently a lecturer at Holmesglen
Institute of T.A.F.E. (which is a junior college equivalent offering a
wide variety of courses in Technical and Further Education).
I am an Architect by trade, with 16 years of professional experience.
For the last 8 years I have concentrated on production of 3D models and
renderings mainly for the building industry.During this time I have
also worked as a freelance 3D artist for design and building industries.I have worked with Imagine, 3D Studio, Real 3D, Electric Image Universe and finally Cinema 4D.
Currently, at Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, I am teaching Architectural
Design, 2D CAD applications, and Cinema4D as the only software we use
for Rendering. 3D is a passion and a job. As of Jan 2005 we'll also
introduce advanced Rendering which will include animation. As part of
my duties at the College I also do regular research assignments.
Greg Serafin reviews CINEMA 4D: The Artist's Project Sourcebook written by Anne Powers, and published by CMP Books, 368 pages, July 2004, ISBN: 1-57820-242-6, and finds it to offer instruction and inspiration for users of Maxon's Cinema 4D, a powerful 3D modelling, animation and rendering software application. Often an high-end app may prove intimidating to the newbie and yet the advanced user may seek more complex uses and desire further instruction. Anne Powers provides to a broad audience an excellent and interesting textbook manual. In one sentence: If, like yours truly, you are that kind of a person for whom reading manuals sits somewhere close to the end of your priorities list, then this book is for you
