Robert
Olague is a writer/producer with strong ties with both the local and
Hollywood film and television industries. Olague is the founder and
chairperson of the Hawaii Screenwriters Association (12 years). He is
on the board of directors of the Film and Video Association of Hawaii
(FAVAH).
He
has worked closely with UH/Pacific New Media, the Hawaii International
Film Festival and the Hawaii Film Office in the past to produce
screenwriting panels, workshops, contests, etc., and was directly
responsible for bringing to Hawaii top entertainment professionals
(Academy Award writer William Kelly - Witness, Professor Richard
Walters - Head of UCLA Screenwriting, Monte Merrick - Memphis Bell,
etc.) Olague is presently assisting the UH/Pacific New Media in
bringing to Hawaii Scott Greenberg of Creative Artists Agency in July
2002 (Agent - Ron Bass, Mark Protosevich, etc.).
Olague
played a major/leading role in producing and developing The Maui
Writers Conference's screenwriting division (first 3 years), which also
involved bringing to Hawaii many of Hollywood's top entertainment
professionals (Academy Award writer Eric Roth - Forrest Gump, Shane
Black - Lethal Weapon, Joe Esterhaz - Basic Instinct, Writers Guild of
America, etc).
Olague
was the founder/producer and CEO of The Internet Movie Channel (6
years), a online Internet broadcast syndication service where he
secured the Internet broadcast rights to more than 5,000 film and
television titles that had been produced for major studios and networks
(CBS, NBC, Sci-Fi Channel, USA Networks, TLC, ESPN, etc.)
Olague
co-wrote, produced and directed one of, if not the first full-length
feature film to be adapted to the Internet using existing films,
integrated digitized multimedia applications and linear and non-linear
writing called Interactive CyberMovies and went on to co-write, direct
and produce a series of online adaptations with such stars as Mickey
Rourke, Cheech Marin, Jim Carrey, etc. (Syndication: over 2 million Net
users: Time Warner's/Oceanic Road Runner Service, MediaOne, Bell South,
DSL, etc.) He produced the first 3D virtual interactive online theaters
with fully integrated ecommerce and interactive cyber movies called The
Hollywood Online Theaters.
Olague
has conducted workshops and has spoken at conferences (Sony Studios,
Maui Writers Conference, Streaming Media West-keynote Bill Gates, etc).
He has conducted interviews (Caroline Thompson: Edward Scissorhands,
The Addams Family, etc,) and has written articles for national
screenwriting publications. He now produces an online television and
film broadcast syndication site called ContentReps.com.
