| Meet Thomas Miller

Tom Miller is an award-winning Lighting Cameraman / DP
with over twenty years experience shooting for the film & television
industry. Tom graduated with a BA in Film and TV Production from the University
of Florida School of Journalism in 1988, and began his career as a staff
cameraman and writer for a production company in Chicago working on a
thirteen-part documentary series for PBS called “On the Waterways,” narrated by
Jason Robards. When the project was complete, Tom moved to LA to “go
freelance” and began building a client base - shooting for companies like
Disney, Fox, and ESPN, as well as a number of commercial and corporate
production companies, independent producers, and small businesses.
In 1991, Tom founded the production company Big Pictures
Media, and moved it to Colorado in 1993. Today, Big Pictures provides
fully–equipped camera, lighting & sound crews, as well as turnkey media
production services. They specialize in documentaries, commercials, and
high-end feature segments for programs airing on ESPN, National Geographic,
Discovery, PBS, ABC News, ABC Sports, The Oprah Winfrey Show, MTV, the History
Channel, and more. In addition to television, Tom also shoots and directs for the
commercial/corporate world. Tom’s work has garnered numerous accolades –
including the Peabody Award, The Edward R. Murrow Award, the May Burton Award
for Production Excellence, and several Tellys.
Tom is currently working on an instructional DVD series
about field production and lighting, as well as finishing a documentary about
Cuban immigration called Voices From Cuba.
