Mike
Kroes began working with film and video in his misspent youth when he
used to animate puppets and fruits instead of engaging in productive
pursuits. He made a great discovery in high school — it was possible to
make a film for a class instead of doing any work. Having gotten out of
writing papers and taking tests for one class, he did it again in
college and became hooked. He has been a videographer and editor ever
since, and is currently the Coordinator of tctv2, a public access
television station. He has worked for the commercial world in
television, as a free-lance video and still photographer, and had his
own video studio for a while. In spite of working in the video world,
his first love remains — animation.
Mike Kroes takes a look at A Guide to Computer Animation for tv, games multimedia and web by Marcia Kuperberg. This book is in the Focal Press Visual Effects & Animation series.
