Max Kovalsky was born and raised in Riga, Latvia. He
came to the United States in 1995, and graduated from the BFA program
in Graphic Design at School of Visual Arts in New York.
In June of 2007, Max founded AREA 4 ( www.area4.tv), the first studio in New York to specialize in advanced authoring and design for the Blu-ray Disc format.
Before
starting AREA 4, Max worked for many years in the DVD industry. He has
authored hundreds of DVD titles for studios, television networks,
and corporate clients. Max's body of work includes projects authored
for the United Nations, BMW, Volvo, Car & Driver, MTV-U, Palm
Pictures, A&E, Sony BMG, Sony Wonder, AMC, BBC, WWE, Classic Media,
2 Entertain, HBO among many others.
DVD work aside, Max's
passion is filmmaking. He has written and directed a feature film and
three shorts. He has written two other feature-length screenplays and
is always on the lookout for a possible next production.
