Tim Kolb of Kolb Productions is a Emmy, Chicago Film Festival Hugo, and Telly Award-winning director and a 20 year veteran of video and television production. He serves as a program producer and first unit director for video programs, television commercials, live corporate events, CD-ROMs and DVDs.

The relentless march of technology occasionally makes Tim feel “…a little ancient” as he did some of the very early interactive work being done with early IBM PCs and analog laser discs (remember those?) in the mid 80’s, moving on to a close relationship with Electronic Arts when “Deluxe Paint” was being developed on the Commodore Amiga platform in the early 90’s, to Macintosh-based Media 100s, and on to High Definition production today. “It sounds absurd when you tell someone just coming into the business that SCSI hard drive space used to cost $500.00/Gig, as you can run most systems today on IDE drives that cost $1.25-2.00/Gig. The increasing complexity of the technology is much easier to keep up with than the shifting economic model we all have to contend with…”

Tim judges Emmys and Tellys and is an advisor to Adobe Systems and CineForm and is a video/multimedia marketspace consultant for Coleman Research Group, a consulting company serving institutional investment advisors.
