Working with partner Nigel Collier, Nel Johnson and Studio Skylab have earned awards from Cream, NME, the British Video Association and BAFTA, for clients including Sony, BBC, Nokia, Microsoft, Universal and many more.

Nel says, “The ethos behind Skylab is one of experimentation, discovery and enjoying what we do. We're trying to build something that is loose in the way it fosters creativity from everyone involved not just the people who are called ‘creatives.’

The decision to form the business was taken because we saw value in blending Nigel's experience in the games and entertainment industry with my passion for design and music. Having both worked for major companies in London and Amsterdam, we felt our experience would be a catalyst to being able to bring something back to our hometown. Manchester's a thriving and exciting city open to all that’s new and adventurous and there are lots of businesses here with a requirement for what we do. We feel between us we had an edge."
