I
knew since I was 11 years old that I wanted to do motion graphics /
special effects when I grew up. I landed my first internship at a
post-production facility when I was 15 and have been in love with
visual FX ever since. I'm a recent graduate of Syracuse University's
Visual and Performing Arts School as a Computer Graphics major, and am
happily employed at CN8 Creative in Philly as a "broadcast graphic
designer". Someday I hope to venture into a more commercial fx work
environment, and then eventually film.
In this tutorial, Colin James demonstrates creating something with glass planes that refract & blur footage behind them ~ much like the opening to the show, CSI:Miami. Colin needed this technique for work, asked the question in the AE COW, and this is what the members came up.
