Michael Hancock's Life, in a few (well, a few more than a few) words:
Though born in Pittsburgh, PA, I grew up moving often--from the dry heat of Texas to the banks of the Ohio River in Evansville, IN to the icy coastline of Portland, Victoria in Australia.
At a young age I was introduced to theater and the art of storytelling, eventually attending the University of Evansville to pursue a degree in Theater Performance. Realizing I really didn't want to wait tables for the rest of my life I spent the next 4 1/2 years at 3 different schools studying Psychology, Apparel Merchandising, English, Marketing and Telecommunications before finally settling on a B.S. in Advertising & Public Relations from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.
Wanting to stay in Evansville while my fiancé finished school, I worked as a copywriter at a local ad agency where I wrote everything from print ads and website copy to :30 TV spots and half hour infomercials. While I was there I was introduced to the Avid Media Composer and fell in love with editing. The editor took me under his wing and taught me the ins and outs of Avid editing and a year later I landed a job at the local NBC affiliate as the On-Air Promotions Director.
I now spend my days cutting station promotions, sweeps news packages and anything else I can get my hands on. In my downtime I enjoy hanging out with my wife and our two ferrets and writing short stories and terrible poetry. The end (for now).

Avid Media Composer: Batch Importing
This tutorial for Avid Media Composer/Symphony covers the basics of batch importing in Avid, and includes replacing a file with another file so it will auto-update across sequences, renaming clips in your bin then finding the original imported file name, batch importing with an alpha channel, importing a file with audio then replacing only the video portion, caveats to batch importing (the importance of file duration), and batching importing groups of clips that have moved from their original location.
