No one is more surprised than me to find that I'm actually making a living as an artist! Who knew?! But perhaps it was inevitable, since the first time I scribbled on my Grandma's wall with a Crayola (Cornflower Blue, I think it was...)! Instead of getting spanked, Grandma just handed me a pile of paper and encouraged me to keep on drawing!
All my life I've dabbled in all types of media, from clay to conte crayon and from acrylics to oils. Then I saw my first CADAM machine-- and I knew that was it! Since then, I became a Computer Artist and have never looked back! Now I've settled into the video production field and have used some awesome tools- Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, After Effects and so many more-- to create some very cool graphics! Working in television has been challenging and rewarding-- I can't wait to see what's next!
Founding SEMAFX (Southeast Michigan Animation and Special Effects Network) has been one of my proudest achievements! We've grown quite a lot and have become a strong resource for animators and FX artists in our area.
My family is an important part of my success. My wife Meaghan is a teacher and inspires me to share my gifts. My sons Donovan and Kerrigan remind me that life is too precious to spend it worrying- and that I must never let go of that feeling of wonder and constant surprise!
When I'm not designing or animating, I'm networking with other wildly talented people, figuring out how to get us all to the "next level"! For freetime, an anomolous term, I spend it golfing, biking, skiing, reading, acting and laughing with my wife and two boys as often as possible.
My artistic journey has taken me from 64 to 16 million colors. It has been quite a trip so far. The Arts are our most tangible gift from God, and I am excited to be a part of that world, to partake of it's magic and also to share it with all of you.
