I lost
a little of my self back in 1993 at a Jurassic Park screening. I
didn't know how they did that. I didn't even know computer yet, but I
knew for sure I had to do that, what ever it is, I have to do it.
That
totally changed my life. Toy Story finished the job in 1995 -- there
was no turning back. I started my way in 3D back in 1998, first using
3ds max, then Cinema4D and finally in 1999 met maya 2.0. Maya
totally blew my mind from the start. I had been a coder before in earlier
computer years, and I loved the way maya blends the artistical and
technical worlds.
Since
then I've done CGI for print, web, TV, Film, DVD, I guess anything
that has pixels in it. :D
The
last five years of my life, me and a few partners have built a
world class animation studio with a lot of success.
I love
to share my knowledge. I learned by my self, using books, the early
internet forums, tutorials and lots of trial and error. I also learned
from a lot of people, great people that share their knowledge.
That's
why I love to share, also a great way to learn from other people. I
totally love the total beginner questions, because their questions are
not filled with software limits. They ask wild questions and always
get you into new ways of thinking.
I have
a beautiful wife, Yaneth, and a beautiful daughter named Dayaem. I can
be found in the park or at the movies with them when I'm not eating
pixels.

Particles are a great world to explore. In this video tutorial from CreativeCOW leader Alvaro Castaneda, well learn how to create particles in very simple ways. We also add collision objects gravity and render them in a liquid like mesh.
In this video tutorial from CreativeCOW leader Alvaro Castaneda, we will create a nice looking effect in Maya that emulates the half-tone print effect. This tutorial shows that Maya can create looks not traditionally associated with 3D rendering applications.
In this Maya video tutorial from CreativeCOW leader Alvaro Castaneda, youll learn why is important to keep everything nice and organized into projects. Well also learn other ways to create folders by using the mighty command line / shell.
In this Maya video tutorial from CreativeCOW leader Alvaro Castaneda, we add shaders to our geometry to later light and render our final logo. This is part 2 of a 2 part series Creating a Logo in Maya.
In this video tutorial from CreativeCOW contributor Alvaro Castaneda, we begin by tracing the logo in a vector app, then use that to start building the logo, using Maya to bring it to life. This is part 1 of a 2 part series Creating a Logo in Maya.
