Gary
Belchér is the owner and principal producer, director, DP, and editor
for 56squared Productions -- a national, and internationally, focused
production company. Beyond the palette of commercials, corporate
videos, training videos, etc., are projects that include the production
and distribution of award winning educational media for medical
facilities across the United States. Clients include some of the top
100 hospitals in the United States.
Original content
is the rule at 56squared Productions. When things are running on all
cylinders, pursuing the development of features, shorts, television
series, and other multimedia projects occupy the bulk of the
non-billable hours.
Gary is an award winning producer and director whose story really began
in the mid 70s -- as a professional still photographer. Gary worked
extensively with 35mm, as well as medium and large film formats.
Whether corporate, still life, tabletop, executive portraits, or
landscapes, he employed his enthusiasm and love of painting with light
to each project. As an Ansel Adams devotee, the zone system was a
constant companion and reminder of the skill needed to satisfy critical
clients.
Gary has also acted professionally and received his Screen Actors Guild
card in the mid 80s. When he made the leap to director / producer, he
swore he would be an “actor’s director.” Something he, and most of his
fellow actors, could always spot, and appreciate.
