Brian was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He has been employed programming computers since 1978, and is currently a Senior Member, Technical Staff with Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, Texas. Brian is married, and has one son, age 13 months.

Brian is a co-author of the book "Win95 Win32 API Bible", published by Waite Group Press, 1996.
