About himself, Alex says: "I was born In Russia and at age seven I moved and grew up in Finland. When I was about 14, I went to Italy where I was later an assistant to the famous Italian film director Luchino Visconti. I worked there on his last two films as assistant director. I studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematographia in Rome. Following this, I moved back to Finland to work in the local film industry where I was a part of some Russian/Scandinavian co-productions. In the 1980s, I moved again to Israel, where I now live. Here I conceptualize, design and create DVDs and other multi-media related projects."
