Ayman
Abdel-Basset is Egyptian but living in Kuwait. He's long loved cinema
and the digital image. He so enjoyed the field of TV that he began
writing for a magazine in Cairo. When was 16 he was invited to be on
the jury committee for the Cairo International Film Festival for young
people cinema because of work in children's tv programs & serials.
Later he was invited to attend Lucas Film Festival at Frankfurt.
While there, he liked the effects of the films so much that it made him
realize that was what he wanted to do with his life.
When Ayman was 18, he learned linear editing at Egyptian Radio TV
Union. Then he worked as linear editor in many studios in Egypt making
video clips and TV commercials (DIGITAL STUDIO & I.T.S & MAGIC
ART) on linear systems of CHARISMA Xvtl & DME3000&5000&7000
with Grass Valley & Sony switchers.
After working for a year as linear editor, Ayman took some classes in
Web Design. He liked flash so much that it was his first step into the
nonlinear world.
Ayman has trained on many nonlinear and VFX systems and has worked as a
nonlinear editor using Fast Liquid Silver and Discreet Edit. Recently,
he's also used a Smoke, but his first love is Combustion integrated
with Edit 6. Ayman even developed a way to write Arabic text in
Combustion v2 despite the lack of Arabic support and the fact that it
is running on an English operating system.
Lately, Ayman has added training to be a DA VENCI 2k COLORIST of
telecine color correction. It seems, Ayman just wants to learn it all. Did we mention that he loves the field of special effects?
Ayman worked as freelancer instructor for discreet combustion at discreet certified educational center in Cairo calls YAT.
Now Ayman is living and working in Kuwait for first private TV channel
in Kuwait which calls (AL RAI) as senior nonlinear editor on DPS system.
Ayman was honoured in having his work accepted for the wondertouch pIllusion demoreel which screened at NAB and Siggraph 2004.
Congratulations Ayman.
